Manchester City and Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez has signed a new three-year deal with the Etihad to secure his future until 2025.
Mahrez had one year left on his previous deal before signing the new contract.
Commenting on the deal, Mahrez said he was delighted to be with an “incredible club”, saying that while he has won eight trophies during his four years at the club, he is “hungry to achieve more” among his manager Pep Guardiola. .
“I am very happy to sign the new deal,” he said. “I have loved every minute of my time here. It is a pleasure to be part of such an incredible club.
“To have helped us achieve the success we have enjoyed over the past four seasons has been unforgettable and has left us all hungry to achieve even more.
I also want to thank Pep, [director of football] Small [Begiristain] and the coaching staff, both for the way they have helped me develop as a player and for pushing me to keep improving.
“Now I just want to try and play my part to help us be successful next season and beyond.”
Mahrez has played nearly 200 times since joining in 2018 and is a key figure for the team.
