Immersive Game Box announces a full, interactive format for Netflix’s Squid Game in New York. The multiplayer experience is Immersive Gamebox’s first adult-only experience for players aged 16 and over. Groups of two to six players can take on challenges inspired by the series, including Red Light Green Light, Marbles and the eponymous Squid Game itself.
Immersive Gameboxes (formerly known as Electric Game Box) patented motion-detection technology and touch screens will surround the interactive digital smart rooms, which they call Gameboxes. While in one of the players, they must test their reflexes and skills to advance to the next stage.
And the best part is, no headsets are needed.

“People are constantly looking for new and different ways to stay invested in their favorite content,” Immersive Gamebox boss Will Dean said in a statement to GamesBeat. “Reinventing Netflix’s most popular show in a brand new format will give customers more ways to stay connected with Squid Game.”
The New York Gamebox location will open on July 28. It’s the newest of more than a dozen locations in the US and Europe, with more to come in the future. Likewise, the Squid Game experience is just the latest game in the Immersive Gamebox catalog. The Squid Game game will open to everyone on September 21, 2022.
Right next to those dozen locations are more than a dozen different gaming experiences. One is a life-size Angry Birds experience, thanks to a recent collaboration with Rovio entertainment.
Tickets for the Squid Game experience are available through the Immersive Gamebox website, or in person. The length of the playing session determines the price; if Squid Game is a 60 minute experience, tickets will cost around $40.
