FANS of Sex Education on Netflix rave about the show’s great cast, genius writing style, and relatable content.
But the show is also filmed in one of Britain’s most picturesque villages, Symonds Yat, nestled in the heart of the Wye Valley.
Known for its picturesque landscapes, quaint winding streets and idyllic forest scenery, the setting of this much loved one TV show also serves as a popular tourist destination.
It’s easy to see why – located just beside the River Wye in Herefordshire, Symonds Yat has everything you could dream of for a perfect countryside escape.
In addition, the star quality village is the backdrop for many iconic scenes from Sex education.
And what better place to start than the Chalet Jean and Otis that call home on the show.

Perched high above the River Wye, it’s no secret that the property makes a fabulous backdrop for the hit TV show – but it’s also available to rent.
“Following its role as one of the star locations in the global hit Netflix Sex Education series, The Chalet is available for rent as a holiday home,” the owners wrote on The Chalet’s website.
For an eye-popping £3,680, the lodge can be yours for 4 nights.
Even the interior of the house was used in the show, as numerous scenes show Otis and his friends relaxing in the various luxurious rooms.
Walking along the riverbank, you can explore the view of the chalet and other landscapes featured in the show – a much more affordable way to soak up the same vibe as Otis and Jean when lounging on their balcony.
Plus, Yat Rock, just a short walk from Otis’ house, has incomparable valley views.
It’s not the only significant part of the show that was filmed here, either.
Wireworks Bridge at Tintern and Tintern Abbey may also be familiar to die-hard fans.
The bridge is where Otis says to Maeve in Season 1, “I’m a Virgin.”
However, many other scenes were filmed in Symonds Yat itself – and you can see them for yourself on a day trip to the pretty village, just an hour’s drive from Bristol.

The shop where Adam and Ola work (and Remi lives). Season 2 is located in Llandogo.
Not far from Symonds Yat, they apparently even used the same board for filming as they did in real life.

The school where much of the show’s plot takes place, filming took place at the now-closed Caerleon campus, which was once part of the University of South Wales.
It is only a 40 minute drive from the village.
So from perfect pubs to beautiful views, the village has something for everyone.
It’s one to add to the bucket list for die-hard Sex Education fans, that’s for sure.
