Ivana was married to the then real estate magnate from 1977 to 1992, but marital bliss erupted years later, become tabloid fodder.

“She fled communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about guts and toughness, compassion and determination.

“She will be sorely missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”

Former President Trump called his ex-wife a “beautiful and wonderful woman” who lived an “amazing and inspiring life”.

“I am deeply saddened to inform all those who loved her, and there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” Trump wrote on his Truth platform.

“She was an amazing, beautiful and wonderful woman, living an amazing and inspiring life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric.

“She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest in peace, Ivana!”

Ivana’s daughter, Ivanka, said in a statement Thursday evening that she was “heartbroken at the passing of my mother”.

“Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate and extremely funny.

“She modeled strength, tenacity and determination in every action.

“She lived life to the fullest and never passed up an opportunity to laugh and dance.

“I will miss her forever and will always keep her memory alive in our hearts.”
