Investigation into murder after girl (9) dies due to suspected stabbing

Murder investigation has been launched after a nine-year-old girl died of a suspected stab wound.

Lincolnshire Police said officers were called to the scene on Fountain Lane in… Boston Thursday at 6:20 pm.

Police said the area has been cordoned off and they will be on the scene in the near future.

Law enforcement said the incident is being treated as murder.

The victim’s parents have been informed and assisted by specialized agents.

“Her family will be supported by specially trained officers,” a brief statement added.

Late Thursday night, a police car was parked on either side of an alleyway to cordon off the area to the public.

Two forensic officers in white suits were seen on the scene before leaving early Friday morning.

In the middle of the alley a large object was found to be covered, which was marked with small yellow signs.

The Conservative MP for Boston and SkegnessMatt Warman, said he has been in contact with the police secretary to ensure national assistance is available for the murder investigation.

“Very shocking news in Boston tonight,” said Mr. Warman.

“I have spoken with senior officers on the ground and am extremely grateful for all the work of the emergency services.

“I have also been in contact with Police Secretary Tom Pursglove to ensure that any national aid that could be useful is made available as soon as possible.”
