Anambra state governor Charles Soludo has confirmed that he has authorized the demolition of popular pastor Chukwuemeka Odumeje’s church.
In a press release signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Gov Soludo said the Odumeje church and other buildings destined for demolition did not comply with the government’s directive to remove the illegal structure on the waterway.
The press release titled: Anambra State Government Begins Demolition of Illegal Structures in Fegge Reads;
“After the expiry of the notice of more than two weeks from April 2022 for developers and owners of buildings who have built various illegal structures along the waterway in Fegge and the surrounding area in Onitsha, the state government of Anambra has started the demolition of such structures.
The exercise, which is being conducted by a joint government task force, started the exercise from Bida Road at Modebe Avenue, Fegge Onitsha.
Affected buildings include Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministries, shops and other fencing
The structures have been flagged since April 2022 and all developers and building owners have been notified to remove such illegal structures.”
