Love Island‘s Jacques O’Neill had shocked viewers when he decided to keep up Paige Thorne instead of rejoining Cheyanne Kerr . afterwards house love†
After pairing up with Paige in the main villa, Jacques’ head was turned during Casa Amor, with the rugby player sharing a bed and kissing Cheyanne – behavior that viewers had branded “disgusting.”
When it came to the reconnection, he said he had undergone a “test” that “made his decision” and decided to stick with Paige.
She also came back single from Casa Amor, having remained loyal the whole time – but her luck soon turned to confusion when Cheyanne revealed what had happened between the two.
“I felt like I had a connection with someone. I suppose my version of a test is different from someone else’s,” Cheyanne said. When asked who she had a connection with, she answered Jacques.
“He said he couldn’t trust himself, shared a bed,” she continued, explaining Jacques’ behavior at Casa Amor.
Asked by Laura Whitmore if she thought she’d rather get up than sit with him, Cheyanne said, “I wasn’t sure, but I know Paige is a nice girl. I hope he treats her nicely.”
Paige said, “It’s not really what you want to hear when you get back. It’s just one of those things. I don’t think it has fully sunk in yet.’
Speaking to host Laura Whitmore, Paige said, “It’s not what you want to hear, especially with how I was at Casa Amor. I don’t think it has fully sunk in yet.’
Later in the episode, Paige scolded Jacques for “huffing and puffing” after asking him if he thought she was missing something so he could test their relationship with another girl.
She said, ‘Be respectful. You can still get to know people without being full on and kissing people, I would never do that with someone I really cared about or had feelings for.
“Don’t you think I look like an absolute idiot now if we continue with what we thought we had. Do you think I deserve that. I don’t understand why you’re the one who’s hostile.’
Jacques said, ‘In the end we’re both single and I think you forget that sometimes.’
Paige stormed off and added, “I’m done.”
Elsewhere in the dramatic reconnection, Andrew Le Page branded his former flame Tasha Ghouri ‘fake’ and accused her of “telling more lies than Pinocchio.”
Ekin-Su and Davide Sanclimenti were brought back together, as were Luca Bish and Gemma Owen.
Love Island continues Friday at 9pm on ITV2.
