He returned to Old Trafford last summer and was on the bench for Man Utd's Community Shield defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

But now he has been linked with a surprise move to Chelsea as the new season gets underway.

According to Football newsThe Blues are willing to offer a transfer fee and two youth players in a deal for Sancho.

They are also open to giving him a loan with an obligation to buy.

This means that he must continue to pay his salary during the term of the loan.

Sancho would be Chelsea's tenth summer signing and a nice addition to the £160million they have already spent in the transfer window.

He was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but the move fell through and the Ligue 1 champions turned their attention to Rennes player Desire Doue.

Sancho, who joined Man Utd from Dortmund for £73m in 2021is now said to have a price tag of around £35 million.

Man Utd manager reveals why Jadon Sancho refused to apologise to Ten Hag before his exile that led to a move to Dortmund

This came after he was dropped from Man Utd's first-team squad in September last year for making himself a 'scapegoat'.

He responded to the fact that Ten Hag had not included him in his selection for the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal. The coach gave Sancho's performance in training as the reason for the decision.

Sancho was previously linked with a move to Chelsea 12 months ago, before his fight with Ten Hag.

He has also said he was a Chelsea fan as a child and that Blues icon Frank Lampard was his favourite player.

He told talkSPORT: “I was a Chelsea fan from growing up, I can't lie!

“Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favourite players at the time.

“I just love Frank Lampard and the way he played his game; he was so direct and so composed on the ball. I love things like that.”
