We are still reeling from the messages that Jennifer Lopez and ben Affleck got married in Las Vegas this weekend, but hold on to your wedding hat, because there’s more, with claims she’s also officially changed her name.
Reports emerged that Jennifer, 52, and Ben, 48, have obtained a marriage license in Nevada on Saturday and got married in Sin City just three months after announcing they were engaged.
Details about their secret marriage have yet to be revealed, but a copy of their marriage certificate, which they obtained on July 16 in Clark County, Nevada, has been obtained and it offers quite a big reveal.
The license was on both their names – Benjamin Geza Affleck and Jennifer Lynn Lopez – but it was striking that Jennifer indicated that she would also take Ben’s last name and drop her maiden name Lopez to become – drum roll, please – Jennifer Affleck.
An insider has since confirmed that the two are indeed husband and wife, telling Entertainment Tonight: “Jen and Ben got married in Vegas.
“They have so much fun together and thought this would be a fun idea too. Ben is absolutely in love with Jen and feels loved by her too. They both feel so comfortable with each other and love that they share history and know each other so well.”
TMZ broke the news about the couple hitchhiking in Las Vegas, but the Hollywood stars have yet to speak out.
Jennifer and Ben first started dating in the early 1990s, which confirmed their romance in July 2002 and got engaged in November of the same year. However, they postponed their wedding, which was scheduled for September 2003 and eventually broke up in January 2004.
They reconciled in the spring of 2021 and in April of this year, Jennifer announced that she was engaged to the Batman actor and revealed the beautiful green ring he presented her during the intimate proposal.
The Marry Me actress shared details about the special moment when Ben fell to one knee, the Marry Me actress wrote on her blog: “Saturday night, while in my favorite place on earth (in the hot tub), my beautiful love on one knee sat down and proposed to her.
‘[I] just looked into his eyes as he smiled and cried as he tried hard to understand that this was all happening again after 20 years.”
She added: “I was literally speechless and he said, ‘Is that a yes?’ I said: “YES of course, that’s a YES”.’
