Jennifer Lopez has given fans a first look at her impromptu wedding to Ben Affleck, after the soulmates got married in Las Vegas this weekend.
The Love Don’t Cost A Thing singer tied the knot with the Batman actor in Sin City on Saturday, three months after he asked the question — and a year after they reconciled.
Reports of the marriage first surfaced on Sunday and now Jennifer, 52, has detailed what happened when she and Ben, 49, took their vows.
In a new blog post on her OnTheJlo website, the Marry Me actress shared a series of photos and videos that offer a behind-the-scenes look at their special day.
One clip shows Jennifer admiring herself in the mirror after putting on her wedding dresses – one was a minimalist but classic sleeveless white dress with a puff skirt and embroidery, and the other, a strapless dress with lace sleeves, while her hair was worn down in loose curls.
Meanwhile, the groom filmed himself getting ready in a pretty swamp-standard toilet, wearing a white tuxedo.
Jennifer wrote in the blog: ‘We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love is patient. Twenty years of patience.
‘Just what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, lined up for a permit with four other couples, all taking the same trip to the wedding capital of the world. Behind us, two men held hands.
Before us was a young couple who made a three-hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday – we all wanted the same thing – so that the world would recognize us as partners and declare our love to the world through the ancient and almost universal symbol of the marriage. ‘
She continued: “They were right when they said, ‘All you need is love.’ We are so thankful to have that in abundance, a new amazing family of five amazing children and a life we’ve never had so much reason to look forward to.
“Stay around long enough and you may find the best moment of your life driving around Las Vegas at 11:30 am in the tunnel of love you’re driving through, with your kids and the one you’ll forever be with.” Spending time . Love is a wonderful thing, perhaps best of all – and it’s worth the wait.’
She signed the blog with her full – and new – married name: Jennifer Lynn Affleck, confirming details of the marriage license she saw indicate that she took her new husband’s surname.
It is not known exactly which guests were present, but Jennifer’s child Emme was seen in one of the photos riding in a car.
In April, Jennifer, 52, announced she was engaged to the Batman actor and revealed the beautiful green ring he presented to her during the intimate proposal that happened while she was relaxing in the tub.
It has certainly been a whirlwind romance for the couple, who began dating in July 2002 and got engaged in November of the same year. However, they postponed their wedding, which was scheduled for September 2003 and eventually broke up in January 2004.
More than 17 years after their breakup, Ben and Jen got back together in the spring of 2021.
It is Jennifer’s fourth marriage as she was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme (14).
Ben was previously married to actress Jennifer Garner, and they share three children, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.
