Wrestling legend Jim Cornette has discussed the latest information in the Vince McMahon scandal, saying he thinks those at the top of WWE have “lost their goddamn minds”.

WWE and Vince McMahon are currently embroiled in a scandal with McMahon reportedly paying out $12 million to former female employees amid allegations of affairs and serious misconduct.

One man who has worked closely with Vince McMahon in the past is iconic former manager of The Midnight Express, Jim Cornette. Speak with Within the ropes’Kenny McIntoshCornette gave his candid thoughts on the situation regarding McMahon, saying that the longtime WWE president was often the one who put his employees on the right track with their comments and behavior:

“I don’t know if shocked [the right word]† I am stunned, amazed and stunned at some of the details. I’m not necessarily shocked by the activity, but here’s the thing, and I said this on my podcastbut I will also say to you, in case there is someone in the world who does not listen to my shows.”

“Working with and for Vince McMahon, it was like having a good relationship with the high school principal. You could laugh and joke with him in the car or at meetings when we were in a more casual setting in instead of a big production meeting or whatever.

“And you could tell jokes and you would get the attaboy every now and then, sometimes you would look over the glasses over the nose as if you were going to sit up and grab your tie. But you never got the impression that you could just totally f*ck it and just do some ridiculous sh*t that you know you shouldn’t be doing.”

“I’ve heard stories about him in the 80’s when they first started the expansion and The Hart Foundation gave him their finisher in a bar, a *, or something. Well, he was younger then, he’s matured a little bit, the steroid trial, he’s been trying to run a somewhat straight-lined business. But I never got the impression of Vince, again in a room with men, and Russo was sometimes there too.”

“You know, comments would be made about a girl’s looks, but we were the ones who kind of *went out, all his followers, he’d be the one who would go [clears throat] and get us back to work. So he always carried a bit of you know, straight posture, upright.”

Jim Cornette then alluded to the claim that Vince McMahon sent photos of himself to a former WWE contractor and says he believes this behavior wasn’t going on when he was working at the company:

“At the same time, he likes his fart jokes, body function humor, sh*t like that. But I said to you before we took off with this, if you pointed a gun at me in 1996 and said, ‘True or false, if you’re wrong, I’ll shoot you. Vince McMahon has a nude photo of himself.” I say false. Now I realize I would have been mowed down the street!”

“The amount that has been paid shocks and amazes me. The fact that he was active with collaborators or, as we learned, some of the talent on the roster on one or two occasions. No one has been mentioned by name and I am not trying to implicate or accuse anyone.”

“But if you said Vince was going to mess with one of the divas on the roster, damn it! Not because he wouldn’t have wanted to, but I didn’t and he gave us no reason to. None of this sh*t was going on then.”

Cornette settled by questioning whether the new levels of wealth involved when WWE went public had caused those responsible, including McMahon, to lose their “rabbits *f*cking minds”:

†[Cornette’s podcast co-host] Brian Last narrowed this down because he’s done more research than I have into this sort of thing, when they went public with those stocks and bought their own plane it seemed like all of a sudden Vince went off the owner of the company to go back to the f*cking college with the fraternity.”

“They make plane flights from hell, everyone gets drunk and shaves people’s hair with shaving cream. Meanwhile, Vince is on the plane and has the meetings with certain divas and Laurinaitis of all people is involved, there is another one. I knew he was a smiling yes man, but I never knew he was a smiling ladies man.”

“So after they went public and bought their own plane and they’re all worth billions of dollars, I think they’ve all lost their rabbit * f*cking mind.”

“So unless there were two Vince McMahons and he was twins all along, and they cut the Hebner deal and replaced Vince with his older brother ‘Bince’, maybe that’s where they got Ezekiel, Elias, and Elrod. I am amazed at the behavior in his own company and things like that.”
