Jimmy Fallon's Haunted House Coming to New York's Rockefeller Center

NBC New York's Rockefeller Center turns into a haunted house, with a little help from Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon and the team behind Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights.

The company is launching “Jimmy Fallon's Tonightmares” next month, a spooky maze based on the late-night TV show host's nightmares, featuring “10 terrifying rooms” filled with ghouls.

The company says it will “bring the nightmares to life in a fully immersive haunted house with terrifying sets, practical effects and jump scares around every corner,” and has been designed with the team behind the Halloween Horror Nights experiences that have become a popular annual tradition at Universal Studios. theme parksNBCUniversal's Global Franchise Management group also worked with Fallon on the hands-on experience.

Tickets start at $36.90 and go for sale August 22. The NBC headquarters experience runs through October 31.

“Tonightmares has everything you need to get scared out of your mind this Halloween,” Fallon said in a statement. “I'm not saying it has killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. But… it has… killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. Spoiler alert.”

Horror experiences have become big business for NBCUniversal. The Halloween Horror Nights attractions in California and Florida draw thousands of people to the parks each night, with a number of elaborate haunted mazes (many based on NBCU IP) built into each park.

As with Halloween Horror Nights, NBC says Fallon's horror attraction is not recommended for children under 14. NBCU is also building a permanent horror-themed attraction in Las Vegas.

“Every year, we bring Halloween to life in new and exciting ways across NBCUniversal through Halloween-themed content and experiences,” added David O’Connor, president of franchise management & brand strategy. “Whether it’s reflected in our theme parks or through film and television, we’re building on our rich horror heritage and are thrilled to support Jimmy Fallon to combine his true fandom of the holiday with our company’s expertise to create this one-of-a-kind experience.”
