Joe Biden, the US president, has tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time just days after coming out of isolation.
On Wednesday, 79-year-old Mr Biden cheered that he had recovered and had tested negative for coronavirus five days of quarantine.
However, on Saturday, his White House doctor revealed that he has again tested positive for the virus, although he is reportedly not experiencing any symptoms and is feeling “pretty good”.
Mr Biden had taken the medication Paxlovid, which has reported numerous cases of effectively reducing Covid’s viral load, only to return once the medication is stopped.
Mr Biden will now resume isolation procedures and his positive test is considered “rebound” positivity experienced by some Covid patients, according to physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor.
