Joe Biden warned of ‘bloodbath’ war with China as Xi spent YEARS preparing an attack | World | News

War strategist Harry Kazianis told Express.co.uk that Chinese President Xi will likely offer to supply arms to Russia as tensions between the US and China escalate. This, he said, would pressure the US to supply more weapons to Ukraine in response, weakening the country’s own weapons stock. This comes after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan last week.

Kazianis said China is “looking for many different asymmetrical ways to push back against the United States and make them look bad.”

He explained: “I think Xi is probably talking to Putin and saying, ‘Look, we weren’t very in favor of giving arms before, but the situation has changed’.

“It wouldn’t even take much – a few hundred drones on the battlefield in Ukraine that are modern and state-of-the-art from the Chinese would make a huge difference to Russia.

“It would put pressure on the US to give more weapons to Ukraine.

“And the US is really pulling those HIMARS back and they’re taking them out of US stockpile, so it’s literally weakening our ability to fight China.

“It’s all scary.”

Kazianis warned that any conflict between the US and China would be a “bloodbath”.

He said: “I think it’s extremely concerning, but I think this would happen anyway.

China responded to Ms. Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan with an unprecedented display of force, including four days of military exercises that surrounded the independent nation.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Ms Pelosi’s visit “has had a serious impact on the political foundations of China-US relations and constitutes a serious breach of China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

According to Taiwan’s defense ministry, the People’s Liberation Army has sent more than 200 military aircraft and 50 warships to the island since last Thursday and launched a number of missile tests.

Dozens of Chinese military aircraft have also crossed the unofficial maritime border between Taiwan and China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said Monday the display of power was a “warning” to those pursuing Taiwan’s independence.

In a statement after landing in Taiwan, Ms Pelosi said: “Our congressional delegation’s visit to Taiwan pays tribute to America’s unwavering commitment to support Taiwan’s vibrant democracy.

“America’s solidarity with Taiwan’s 23 million people is more important than ever today as the world faces a choice between autocracy and democracy.”
