John Krasinski was left stunned when he was questioned about a bizarre fan theory regarding his stint in office.
The 42-year-old became a household name thanks to his role as Jim Halpert in the American version of the hit sitcom, alongside Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson and Jenna Fischer.
Although the paper seller became a firm fan favorite for his adorable romance with Pam Beesly and his (usually) friendly feud with Dwight Schrute, some viewers were convinced he was actually the show’s biggest villain.
The Scranton strangler might have something to say about that…
During an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the host couldn’t help but ask John’s opinion on the theory—and he was just as confused as the rest of us.
After asking if it was “made up,” the Quiet Place actor clarified the question.
“They got me because I played it as a super villain,” he replied. “That’s why I did Fantastic Four, to balance it out.
“I had already done the villain.”
To be fair, there are more than enough villain moments from Jim to make us think twice…
The Office first appeared on our screens in 2005 and ran for nine seasons, echoing the inner workings of paper company Dunder Mifflin and its beloved employees.
Fans were recently brought back to Scranton when Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston revealed that he almost killed the entire cast while directing an episode.
Yes, serious.
In the episode in question, the gang moved their office to a work bus while Dwight smoked the office, after a joke from Jim, of course.
Bryan, who was behind the camera for the scenes, stopped by for a chat on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last month and explained that the actors were actually filming in a trailer, which was hooked up to an AC system.
“They didn’t think where the inlet for the cooling system was exactly aligned with where the bus outlet was,” he casually told the host.
“So the exhaust from the bus went straight to the inlet, cooled it…”
Fortunately, Jenna notified the cast and crew of the problem and told everyone she could smell “exhaust fumes” from the bus.
“I got a chair and I stood on the thing and I stuck my nose in it and sure enough it rippled down,” Bryan continued. “It was carbon monoxide.
“I wasn’t quite sure, so I got a second wind. I got some more, I got really dizzy and then I realized, “Oh my God, we could have all been dead”.’
Recalling the drama while talking to Metro.co.ukRainn told us, “Bryan directed the delivery of the work bus… It was 110 degrees in the San Fernando Valley and they hooked up an air conditioner to the back of the bus to give us extra cooling.
“But they didn’t think about the exhaust recycling and potentially poisoning us…”
‘It was right Phyllis’ [Smith] out, Jenna Fischer threw up on my shoes. Ellie Kemper went into a coma…” he added jokingly.
‘I don’t remember exactly what injuries were sustained. But we blame Bryan Cranston completely, 100%.”
Which is quite fair enough…
