Johnny Depp has reached a preliminary agreement to buy a pack of a . to solve City of Lies crew member who says the actor attacked him on set.
According to a settlement notice filed in court Monday, Depp has reached a settlement with location manager Greg “Rocky” Brooks in a deal requiring Depp to comply with unspecified terms of the settlement by the end of August.
“The Settlement Agreement terms dismissal of this case on the satisfactory completion of specified terms not to be performed within 45 days of the settlement date,” the filing reads. “A request for dismissal will be submitted no later than 1/5/2023.”
The terms of the deal were not detailed in the announcement. The case will be reopened if Depp fails to comply with the terms.
Brooks sued Depp in 2018 because the actor had beaten him twice in a drunken diatribe. He claimed that Depp yelled at him, punched him twice in the ribs and offered him $100,000 to hit back. Brooks was reportedly fired from the production after he refused to promise not to sue the incident. He also accused Depp of taking drugs on set and of smelling alcohol during the meeting.
After the lawsuit was filed, script supervisor for the film Emma Danoff came in defense of Depp, say she has evidence that the incident never happened. She filed a court statement saying she witnessed the altercation and that Depp confronted Brooks only after the location manager verbally abused a black homeless woman with racist comments.
“He immediately got up from our shared seat on the edge of a planter and went to Brooks to stand up for the woman,” Danoff said. “Mr. Depp said to Mr. Brooks, ‘You can’t talk to her like that. Do you think she’s anything less than you? Who do you think you are? How dare you?'”
Danoff disputed Brooks’ claim that Depp beat him and that she had the photos to prove it.
Depp was represented by Camille Vasquez, who was part of his legal team in his defamation duel with Amber Heard. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Brooks’ representative Arbella Azizian also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
