Julian Nagelsmann is excited about the job at Chelsea FC, but wants to wait until the summer to decide on the future

Nagelsmann is out of work following his departure from Bayern Munich last month and the 35-year-old German is a leading candidate to take over at Stamford Bridge.

There has been no contact between Nagelsmann and Chelsea at this stage.

While it is clear that Nagelsmann is eager to join Chelsea, it is not clear if he wants a proper break before considering offers.

It’s clear he’s eager to wait until summer before deciding on his next move.

Nagelsmann has also been targeted by Tottenham to acquire Antonio Conte.

Despite being fired by Bayern, he maintains a positive reputation. He leaves with a winning percentage of 71.4 percent and has led the German giants to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Chelsea sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart will lead the search for a new manager.

Alternative options include former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino, who was interviewed for the job before Potter was appointed.

Pochettino is also out of work but is set to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid this summer as he is considered for a return to Spurs.

Sporting manager Ruben Amorim was also discussed by Chelsea last year as they were eager to discover younger, more exciting coaches at the start of their careers.

Former Spain and Barcelona boss Luis Enrique could also enter the fray.

Bruno Salter has been appointed interim head coach following Potter’s departure and has been tasked with preparing the team for Tuesday’s home game against Liverpool.

Chelsea are prepared to put Bruno in charge for several games as they look for a long-term option to enter.

The Blues will play in the first leg of the quarter-final of the Champions League against Real Madrid on April 12.
