JURGEN KLOPP will make a surprise return as a football manager next month.
The former Liverpool manager announced he was taking a break from football after leaving the Reds at the end of last season, but has since hinted at a complete retirement from the sport.
However, on September 7, Klopp will make a surprise return to the dugout.
He does this because he is going to play football at his old club Borussia Dortmund in the Signal Iduna Park.
Klopp will host a one-off farewell match for Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski.
The 57-year-old player did both during his time at the Bundesliga club.
In a video posted by Black and Yellow on Instagram, Piszczek and Blaszczykowski were seen talking about their plans for the match.
Piszczek says: “We need a coach and I have an idea, we call the retired coach.”
Klopp is then seen making a video call while wearing black sunglasses and a white T-shirt.
Then he says, “You finally have your farewell match. Oh my god. And you want to train for the match. Are you stupid?”
The pair burst out laughing before asking which team he would be leading.
To which Klopp replies: “I don't give a damn. I do it like I used to do it, I start thinking about it five minutes beforehand.
“Is the game sold out? I would still buy a ticket if I wasn't coming!”
Klopp won two national titles with the club, the DFB-Pokal and two DFL-Supercups.
At Liverpool he achieved even more: he won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Champions League, the Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup and two Carabao Cups.
In his emotional video announcing he was leaving Liverpool, Klopp said he had “no energy left”.
More to come.
