Kat Slater and Alfie Moon (Jesse Wallace and Shane Richie) have a rich history EastEndersbut Kat left Alfie devastated in recent scenes as she called for the end of an era.
After splitting up with husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and getting on the wrong side Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), Kat had nowhere to live and was grateful when Alfie offered her a room in his flat.
Living together went surprisingly smoothly for the family – perhaps too well for Kat's taste.
Kat and Alfie's children seem to have been given the impression that they will get back together, with their son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) has encouraged Alfie to tell Kat how he really feels.
However, he never found the courage, and Kat has since ruined his parade by making it clear that they are just friends.
In recent scenes, things got even more complicated Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) returned with Mo Harris (Laila Morse) in towand realized he was now homeless.
Of course, no Slater is ever truly homeless, as they somehow always manage to find room for an extra person at number 31.
Jean made it clear that Freddie was more than welcome in the family home, even if he did not feel comfortable there.
Viewers will remember that Freddie was arrested for attempted murder after attacking sinister stalker Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) with an iron in defense of Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), and went straight to mother Little Mo after being released on bail.
As Kat revealed how nice it was to have him back, Freddie had to tear his eyes away from where Theo had been left unconscious.
He quickly continued the conversation, emphasizing that it must be nice for Kat's boys to have their parents back together, even though Kat was adamant that it wasn't.
As Freddie and Jean continued to tease her, it got her thinking, and she soon came up with a plan to end things once and for all.
When Freddie later arrived at Alfie's flat to collect some of his belongings, it was clear he was still unhappy about the move.

To save his feelings and put an end to the rumors about her and Alfie, Kat revealed that she planned to move out the next day so that Freddie could get his room back.
Although Tommy and Alfie were adamant that they should stay, Kat insisted she was fed up with people getting the wrong idea about their relationship, pointing out that it wasn't fair to confuse Bert and Ernie.
Now that her decision had been made, Alfie was left devastated. Will he ever get the chance to tell her how he really feels?
