The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will make their way across the pond, arriving in Boston in December for this year’s Earthshot Prize, honoring ingenuity in the fight against climate change. Since the initiative began, Prince William has received support from the state, including from a prominent – you might even consider them “royal” – American family, with whom the Cambridges will be working together during their stay in Boston this winter.
However, social media users didn’t seem happy with the idea of the Cambridges visiting the US.
Twitter user ElenaB tweeted: “We’re not interested in it, and nobody wants this awkward, expensive, pointless journey.
“We have real work to do here and a democracy to save. No time for casual monarchists who treated an American citizen like shit.”
Another user Meg Monroe tweeted, “Why are Prince William and Kate Middleton chasing America?
“Didn’t she and their cronies urge Meghan to ‘go home’? Is the British public so inadequate for their greed? The gal.”
A third user, Eden, tweeted: “This is going to be the real test for them. America in ’14 is VERY different from America in ’22.
“If the Royal protocol can get out of the way and then this could be a good thing for them, BUT the RF’s treatment of the Sussexes will follow them throughout the journey.”
Another added: “United States is not a Commonwealth country and if Meghan were not American, the American media would not pay attention to Harry and Meghan at all.

“William and Kate trying to take the US by storm is sad and pathetic. They have to stick to the rivers and lakes they are used to.”
Upon their arrival in Boston, William and Kate are likely to receive a warm welcome from the family of the late President John F. Kennedy, especially his only grandson, Jack Schlossberg.
Caroline Kennedy’s 29-year-old son, Schlossberg, is a vocal supporter of Prince William’s Earthshot Prize.
In fact, in the past week, Scholssberg quoted “Earth shot baby!” above an announcement from JFK Library, which read: “The JFK Library Foundation is proud to be the host partner in addition to [Mayor Michelle Wu] and [the City of Boston] for the [Earthshot Prize]celebrating extraordinary solutions to restore our planet from around the world.”
