William and Kate appear in the awesome Harry and Meghan Netflix trailer

Images of William and Kate with Harry and Meghan at the 2020 Commonwealth Day service, the Sussexes’ final public appearance as senior working royals, feature in Harry and Meghan’s awesome trailer.

The one-minute trailer, featuring never-before-seen private photos of the couple, was released on the second day of the Prince and Princess of Wales’s high-profile trip to the US.

In one segment of the footage, Meghan appears to be wiping away the tears with both hands as they stream down her face, while Harry sits and tilts his head back, seemingly in distress.

The couple is heard being asked, “Why did you want to make this documentary?”

Harry says: ‘No one sees what goes on behind closed doors… I had to do everything I could to protect my family’, while Meghan says: ‘If the stakes were so high, wouldn’t it make more sense to hear our story ? from U.S?’

There are also happy snaps of the Sussexes kissing while Meghan sits on a kitchen island, as newlyweds dance for joy at their evening wedding, cuddling in a photo booth and Meghan rocking her belly while pregnant.

But the Duchess is also pictured with her hand in front of her face as she sits cross-legged on a chair and holding a phone, but it’s not clear in this image if she’s crying.

The preview for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix documentary, titled Harry & Meghan, features personal photos of the couple flashing across the screen. They are asked ‘Why did you want to make this documentary?’ to which Harry replies, “No one sees what goes on behind closed doors.”

He adds, “I had to do everything I could to protect my family” before Meghan appears to wipe away tears.

She adds, “When the stakes are that high, wouldn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

The ad hardly came at a bad time for William and Kate, who are on their second day of a visit to the US, which has been overshadowed by a race at Buckingham Palace.

The one-minute, twelve-second clip begins with a producer asking “why do you want to make this documentary?” before lighting up over a dozen photos of Harry and Meghan spending time together, along with an image of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Harry’s voice is heard saying, “no one sees what goes on behind closed doors,” before viewers are shown the photo of Meghan in distress. “I had to do everything I could to protect my family,” the duke later added.

The trailer finally cuts to his wife, who says, “When there’s so much at stake, doesn’t it make sense to hear our story from us?”

Billed as a Netflix Global Event, the streaming giant promised an “unprecedented and in-depth documentary series” over six episodes in which Harry and Meghan “share the other side of their high-profile love story.”

It added that it was a “never-before-seen look at one of the most talked about couples in history.”

The Sussexes have reportedly been paid $100 million (£88 million) for the fly-on-the-wall series, which has left the royal family bracing for more damaging allegations from the couple.

It comes at an inconvenient time for the Prince and Princess of Wales – whose US tour got off to a rocky start yesterday after a scandal over ‘racist’ comments made by Lady Susan Hussey at an event hosted by Queen Consort Camilla.

The royal family will be bracing for further negative headlines when the Sussexes’ Netflix show airs next Thursday.

Harry and Meghan announced their deal with Netflix just six months after settling in California in March 2020, saying they wanted to offer “hope and inspiration” by partnering with the streaming goliath.

The Duke and Duchess said their company, then unnamed but now known as Archewell Productions, would make documentaries, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programmes.

In a statement, the Sussexes said: ‘Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.

‘As brand new parents, we also find it important to create inspiring family programmes.’

They added that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”

Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer and co-chief exec, said at the time: “We are incredibly proud that they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited to join them in telling stories that can help build resilience and understanding for to increase the audience. everywhere.’

After putting the deal in writing, the Sussexes reportedly welcomed cameras to their luxury mansion in Montecito for a reality-style documentary, Page Six reported.

While it’s unclear exactly how much of their family life the couple wanted to share, they certainly let Netflix cameras follow them during public appearances in 2021 and 2022.

When Harry and Meghan flew to the Global Citizen Live event in New York in late September 2021, a camera crew accompanied them.

And just over six months later in The Hague in April of this year, the Duke and Duchess were filmed at the Invictus Games embracing Team United Kingdom competitor Lisa Johnston and meeting competitors and chatting to the crowd.

One of the event’s organizers said the Netflix team arrived in six passenger cars with suitcases full of equipment.

The film crew were given maroon bibs to help them stand out from the dozens of photographers capturing the games and given exclusive access to the pair of behind-closed-door meetings with the athletes.

However, when it came to the Queen’s jubilee in June – just a few months before the late monarch died on September 8, the couple were told firmly that they would not be able to film while attending the celebrations.

Indeed, Meghan and Harry played a quiet role in the national event, missing key moments on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where only senior roles were allowed to attend.

Even before the show was released, the show has been making waves on both sides of the Atlantic and is expected to spark fresh turmoil for the royal family. Harry also has his memoir, called ‘Spare’, on the way.
