Kate Middleton news: The ‘Spartan’ trait the Duchess shares with Michelle Obama | Royal | News

The Duchess40, and Mrs. Obama, 58, both have a physical trait previously associated with “intelligence and competence” – toned arms. Kate stunned royal fans with her impressive physique as she watched her husband, Prince Williamparticipated in a charity polo match earlier this month.

As the Duchess donned a sleeveless white Emilia Wickstead dress for the event, royal onlookers soon spotted Kate’s tight arms and praised them.

British writer Lisa Hilton pointed out that muscle is coming back into fashion for women and that this coincides with the world noticing Michelle Obama’s gym-sharpened biceps and triceps.

She wrote in the Daily Mail: “The Duchess […] boasts that special thing that millions of women have longed for since Michelle Obama crossed the White House threshold: perfectly toned arms.”

Calling Kate’s physique a “beauty rocket” in the Duchess’s arsenal, she traced the prized muscular arms back to ancient Greece.

She noted, “Yet while the Duchess’ sleeveless styles look fresh and modern, she actually evokes a venerable tradition.

“Because like so many aspects of a woman’s appearance, the size of our arms is subject to a complex social evolution that has seen them increase and decrease over the centuries.”

She continued, “In the classical world, a toned female physique was associated with intelligence and competence – the sculpted Spartan girls were seen as the erotic pin-ups of the era.”

Kate attended the Royal Charity Polo Cup earlier this month to cheer on Prince William as he took the field.

The Duchess presented Prince William with a trophy shortly after the game.

A body language expert, who went on to assess the Duke and Duchess’ behavior at the charity event, called the couple “flirty” and pretended to be on a “first date”.

Judi James analyzed the footage and photos from the event, calling the charity match a show of the couple’s “natural chemistry.”

She told the Mail: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s natural and coordinated chemistry is easily illustrated during these kisses and other PDAs at polo.

“They manage to perfectly execute the more formal reward kiss while providing hints and clues to indicate the true depth of their relationship and how they would normally behave with more intimacy if they were out of public view. “

She added: “Kate’s simulated embrace at the beginning of the kiss as she holds out both arms to welcome William with the expression of a desire to cuddle shows how they temper or tone down their body language in public.

“This gesture shows how a full hug would be normal for the couple.”

She then turned to Prince William who put an arm around Kate’s waist, saying: “They later walked away with their arms around each other, like a young couple on a first date.

“Their eye contact as they come closer for the kiss. This level of close-quarters eye contact shows a very loving relationship.

“Kate’s gaze even goes to William’s lips, which is a flirty gesture.”
