Kate Moss reveals why she testified in Johnny Depp-Amber Heard lawsuit – The Hollywood Reporter

Kate Moss opened up about why she chose to to give evidence in ex boyfriend Johnny Depplibel lawsuit against ex-wife Amber heard.

Opening in an interview with the BBC radio show Desert Island DiscsMoss was asked about defending both Depp and fashion designer John Galliano, who was found guilty of making racist and anti-Semitic comments in a Paris court in 2011.

“I believe in the truth, and I believe in fairness and justice,” Moss replied. “I know John Galliano is not a bad person – he had an alcohol problem and people turn around. People are not themselves when they drink, and they say things they would never say if they were sober.”

About Depp, she continued: “I know the truth about Johnny. I know he never kicked me down the stairs. I had to tell that truth.”

The model, who dated Depp from 1994-98, became involved in a legal battle after Heard testified about an altercation with Depp in which Heard beat him to protect her sister.

“I see my little sister with her back to the stairs and Johnny waves at her,” Heard testified. “I don’t hesitate or wait. I just immediately think of Kate Moss and the stairs, and I waved at him.’

Heard’s mention of Moss gave Depp’s lawyers an opening to bring in Moss as a rebuttal.

Depp’s attorney Benjamin Chew clenched his fist excitedly as Heard called Moss into the gallery, clearing the way for Moss’ testimony. Moss discounted Heard’s external account of the incident.

“As I left the room, I slipped down the stairs and hurt my back,” Moss testified. “And I screamed because I didn’t know what was happening to me, and I was in pain. He came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical help.”

Depp was finally handed over an overwhelming legal victory for the jury in his case against Heard.
