Kate was reportedly commissioned by her stepmother to shoot the cover photo for the latest issue of Country Life magazine, guest-edited by Camilla herself.
The Duchess of Cornwall was also the cover star for the issue, and the gorgeous photo shows the 75-year-old dressed in blue with a basket of pelargoniums in the garden of her home Raymill in Wiltshire.
According to editor Mark Hedges, Kate Camilla’s first choice was to take the photo.
He told The Telegraph: “She replied immediately [when asked who she wanted to be the photographer] “Oh, I’d really like Catherine to do it.”
“I spent the next three or four minutes desperately in my brain trying to think of a professional photographer named Catherine.
“Then I suddenly understood what she meant – one of the most amazing things that could happen.
“I thought it was one of the easier things to nod my head.”
Camilla’s country dresser Shona Williams shared a candid behind-the-scenes photo of Kate, casually dressed in a pink blazer and jeans, as she snapped the photo of Camilla in the garden.
Known for her love of photography, the Duchess of Cambridge has released many casual photos of her children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.

He said: “The photo I love most that she took is William and the three children on the swing,” referring to a photo shared in June 2020 to celebrate Prince William’s 38th birthday.
“I would have committed murder to have taken that photo.
“Everyone laughs at their mom, and you know only a mom or a dad can get that picture, and it’s an absolute winner.
‘Charlotte with her arm around daddy, you know, ‘daddy’s girl’. It’s a beautiful picture, I was so full of praise for her.”
