Katie Boulter snubbed by Wimbledon organizers as clash with Harmony Tan led to Court 2

Wimbledon organizers delivered an astonishing rejection of British player Katie Boulter by scheduling her third round match at Court 2 – despite her exploits at Center Court earlier this week.

Boulter scored the win of her career by beating last year’s finalist Karolina Pliskova in the second round, and was expected to return to Center Court or No 1 Court of the All England Club for her next match.

But organizers instead sent her to Court 2 to face Harmony Tan in the third round, opting to prioritize American teen Coco Gauff’s match against compatriot Amanda Anisimova.

Not only will Boulter’s match have a smaller crowd at Court 2, but it will also be open to the changeable weather forecast as there is no roof to protect from the rain.

The move may confuse some cardholders, as Boulter had been a shoe-in to return to the main show court on the grounds after causing such a stir with her win on Thursday.

With just two British players scheduled for Saturday, it seemed an obvious choice to place them both on the biggest podiums available.
