Andrew Moore died in hospital on Monday after allegedly being assaulted by his girlfriend, which another shearer told US police were “furious”.

Moore’s girlfriend, Monique Sullivan, has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently in jail in the rural town of Kemmerer. Stuff.

Moore and Sullivan were shearers on a sheep farm near the town of Kemmerer when Moore died, local media, the Star Valley Independent, reported Thursday.

According to court documents, Moore suffered a “significant” stab wound to his left side.

Soon after, Sullivan was transported to the same hospital with a self-inflicted injury.

While in the hospital, Sullivan confessed to stabbing Moore after seeing his coat near an exam room, U.S. Detective Jody Gardner said.

Sullivan told police that she and Moore did not get along that day. The pair argued at a party where Moore was verbally abusive, court documents say.

Sullivan “became enraged,” grabbed a knife and made stabbing motions at Moore, but he was closer than she thought, and he was stabbed, court documents said.

The suspect told police she just felt “angry” and did not feel physically threatened by Moore.

Moore and Sullivan were drinking heavily in a trailer with four others, said another Kiwi in the party.

Sullivan moved into her own caravan after an abusive remark was made to her, and Sullivan later followed to comfort her, the witness said.

The witness, Stacy Hikawai, said she awoke later to find Moore bleeding profusely from a wound in his side and Sullivan had blood on her hands.

Moore was then taken to hospital by the others at the party.

Police found a large kitchen knife with suspected blood on the blade when they were executing a search warrant, the court documents said.

Sullivan has $500,000 bail, but she can’t leave Lincoln County if it’s paid.

Under Wyoming law, second-degree murder is defined as killing with malice on purpose.

Sullivan would serve 20 years to life in prison if convicted.

Kemmerer is a town of about 3000 people and is known as the founder of the department store chain giant JCPenny.
