Professional pitchers are easy to look at, but did you know that shot put weighs up to 7.2 kilograms?

Currently, some kiwis have been able to shoot shot put to pop-up circles across the country.

The New Zealand Olympic Committee has established a circle to promote the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The pop-up included a demonstration of how the sport would take place before the general public could go on their own. The best shots in each city won awards in four categories, both adults and children.

Some of New Zealand’s Commonwealth Games athletes were also there.

New Zealand will be competing in a match in Birmingham, England from July 28th to August 8th.

New Zealand has participated in all competitions since its inception in 1930, making its 22nd appearance in the Commonwealth Games. This year’s match will feature 26 sports, 72 countries, 283 events and 4,500 athletes.

The Pop-up Shot Put Circle will be on June 14th at Britomart in Auckland, June 18th at the Waterfront in Rotorua, June 23rd at Queens Wharf in Wellington, and Friday at Christ Church near the Memorial Bridge. Held at Oxford Tce.
