Two lanes are closed to motorists on the M25 which goes clockwise between Junction 23 and Junction 24. Traffic moves slowly between Potters Bar and the A1 Junction. National Highways warned motorists to “expect delays” around the area.
The company tweeted: “Two lanes of traffic on the M25 have been closed clockwise between J23 Potters Bar and J24 (A1M) due to a collision and an overturned car.”
National Highways also issued a similar warning on Thursday to those driving in the southbound lane of the M40.
Due to an accident, two lanes are currently closed between Junction 7 (Thame) and Junction (Watlington).
National Highways: East tweeted: “Two lanes are closed on the M40 southbound between J7 Thame and J6 Watlington due to a collision.”
They also warned that delays were likely for commuters.
Delays on the M25 come after another section of the motorway was closed off on Wednesday afternoon due to a car overturned.
The crash closed three of the four lanes on the counterclockwise carriage between junction 10 for the A3 and junction 9 for Leatherhead.
Drivers faced five kilometers of traffic jam even after two lanes were reopened.

“Three lanes were closed to allow emergency services to deal with a overturned vehicle.
“One person has reported minor injuries.”
