Diane AbbottBritain's longest-serving black MP has been 'barred' from standing as a Labor candidate in the general election.
Abbott, who has represented her East London since the late 1980s, the media said this morning that she has been excluded.
The MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington had the whip reinstated last night following an investigation into her April 2023 comments that Jewish people should not have to deal with racism 'all their lives'.
She told me BBC: 'Although the whip has been reinstated, I am not allowed to stand as a candidate for the PvdA.'
About a week after the starting gun for the general election was fired, political leaders are all out today.
