Laurence Fox slammed Kathy Burke on his return to Twitter.

The actor was temporarily banned from posting to the social media site after changing his profile picture to one that had been manipulated to resemble a “swastika.”

The Reclaim Party leader outraged many on Sunday night when he shared an image on his page of four Progress Pride flags manipulated in such a way that a swastika symbol — once an ancient religious symbol, but now widely recognized for its its appropriation by the Nazi Party and neo-Nazis – could be seen.

He had written next to the image, which, although no longer his profile picture, will remain as a post on his feed: “I’ve updated my profile picture for the rest of the holy month.

“Blessed be the fruit.”

Comedian Kathy Burke was among those to criticize him, saying, “Lawrence Fox’s existence is another reason to be pro-abortion.”

Laurence has since responded by saying in a five-minute video, “So basically Kathy Burke is saying she wished I was dead.

‘OKAY. You know, that’s pretty standard for Twitter. You don’t really get reported or banned for that. And she then mixes that up with the issue of abortion, which is a very difficult choice for many women and men and people who are going through such a difficult time.

“But what really bothers me more than anything, if I’m being very honest, is the fact that she even got my mom involved…she couldn’t have understood where Kathy Burke’s thinking comes from, because what my mommy was.” she was of sound mind. She was incredibly honest. She loved people, genuinely loved people. And she also taught us to love people and to be kind.

And she didn’t care if you disagreed politically or otherwise ideologically. She just wanted everyone to be heard and have a voice, which is why I care about free speech.

“And I am grateful every day to be blessed with such a wonderful mother. So for Kathy Burke to mix that up and say she wished I had an abortion is a huge shame on my mom because my mom was a very, very, very compassionate, intelligent, powerful, independent…

“More generally, isn’t it sad that people are so full of absolute hatred?”

On Monday morning, Laurence’s account was locked down by Twitter, reporting it had violated the platform’s media policies.

In a statement, a Twitter spokesperson said: “We have taken enforcement action against the account referenced for violating our rules regarding misuse of profile information and hateful conduct. The account owner had to delete the conflicting profile picture before he could regain access to his account.”

However, Laurence’s account is now active again, with the actor changing his profile picture to the flag of China, before updating it again to be a character with a rainbow Pride flag.

In response to his ban, Laurence shared the message he received from Twitter stating that it had determined that the account had violated the aforementioned rules.

The controversial actor and singer wrote alongside the company’s announcement: “You can openly… [Great Britain flag] a symbol of fascism and totalitarianism on Twatter. You can’t criticize the sacred flags,” alongside the rainbow Pride flag and the Trans flag emoji.

I added in a statement to: metro.co.uk“While I’m glad my account has been reinstated, this temporary ban only served to amplify Twitter’s hypocrisy. Over the anniversary weekend, I lost count of posts comparing the prominence of Union Jack flags across the country to Nazi Germany.

However, the prominence of the various pride flags and symbols throughout the month of June is not only indisputable, but their acceptance and celebration is enforced with a sense of authoritarian authority. My post was clearly intended to emphasize this double standard – and the resulting temporary ban effectively proved my point.”

However, as many pointed out, his profile change came just days after a gunman killed two people during the Oslo Pride festival – with Norwegian police saying the attack was considered an “extreme Islamic terror act” – with one responding to the claim. from Laurence that your ‘Can’t criticize’ the Pride flags: ‘Because you edited those flags into a swastika. Not that hard to understand to be honest.’

The account for the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism also criticized the image, writing: ‘Displaying pride flags in the shape of a swastika is not the edgy statement you think it is.

“It is possible to express an opinion without the hatred, and without insulting those killed by the Nazis, including Jews and LGBTs.”
