Learn to solve the mysteries of your family history at the Christchurch expo

A family history exhibition will be held next week at Christchurch’s Central City Library, TÅ«ranga.

The expo officially opens with a welcome function on Friday, August 19, and then continues on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend expo will feature a series of talks and workshops from genealogists, local and family history enthusiasts, and international experts in family history research. There will also be information stands and displays. The evening function on Friday is finished ticket only. The sessions on Saturday and Sunday are free, but bookings are mandatory for the workshops as there is a limited number of places.

More information about the expo, which is run by Christchurch City Libraries, in association with Memories In Time, can be found here.

Mia Bennett is one of the experts who will speak at the expo. Bennett is a professional genealogist living in Gloucestershire, England.

She has researched her own family history for more than a quarter of a century and specializes in using DNA to solve family history mysteries.
