The King Power club cannot afford to waste time in the search for a replacement.

Although no discussions have taken place with potential candidates – and there is no clear frontrunner at this stage – Baggies boss Corberan is in the mix.

The ex-Huddersfield manager guided West Brom to the play-offs this season, despite not having spent a cent on new signings.

Corberan's men fell short, losing 3-1 on aggregate eventual winner Southampton in their semi-final.

However, the energetic Spaniard's standard remains high and he is regarded as one of the most tactically astute managers in the Championship.

Leicester will also have to replace the majority of the backroom staff at some point Maresca to leaf through.

The Italian will take the five coaches he brought to the club to Stamford Bridge next season.

Ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who retired last summer, is part of his staff.

He succeeds Mauricio PochettinoWHO left by mutual consent last week.

Chelsea had thought of something like Kieran McKenna, Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Frank for the job.

Meet Pep Guardiola disciple Enzo Maresca

Enzo Maresca is considered one of the most exciting young coaches in the world.

He was born in Italy in 1980 and managed to guide Leicester to the championship title in his first season as Foxes boss.

His managerial career began at Italian minnows Ascoli before being acquired by Man City in 2020 to manage their Elite Development Squad.

He guided the youth team to the Premier League 2 title in his only season with the Citizens, with Cole Palmer in the squad.

His first senior job was at Parma, but he was sacked after just a few months after failing to impress.

Despite the team playing in Serie B and Maresca having an impressive squad, he failed to put them on course for promotion.

He returned to Man City and worked as one of Pep Guardiola's assistants for the 2022/2023 season as they won the Treble.

He took over relegated Leicester last summer and made an immediate impact, with the Foxes winning the Championship title.

Maresca showed his dedication to the job by living on the training ground for the first two months after his appointment.

He is considered something of a Pep disciple and has said: “For a coach it is important to have the mentality of a chess player.”

During his playing career he played under Carlo Ancelotti and Marcello Lippi – and alongside ex-Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi.

The Italian took over at the King Power Stadium last summer Led Leicester back to the Premier League the first time I asked.

He won 31 of 46 Championship games during his only season with the Foxes.

Before joining Leicester, Maresca worked for Manchester city as Pep Guardiola's assistant.

He was instrumental in guiding the Sky Blues to their historic Treble.
