While it’s important not to draw too many definitive conclusions from a pre-season exhibition game, Jurgen Klopp admitted his Liverpool side made far too many mistakes in their 4-0 loss to bitter rivals Manchester United earlier this week.
It is clear that the team is just getting started after a particularly grueling campaign, but the fact that there is less than a month to go before the Premier League starts again means that improvements are both urgent and necessary.
Mohamed Salah got 45 minutes against United and will definitely get more minutes in the tank when Liverpool meet Crystal Palace in Singapore while the star offers ahead to build a relationship with the star with a lot of money Darwin Nunez. Palace meanwhile go to this one without some key players because of various injuries or up to Covid vaccination status. Follow all the action LIVE with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog!

Klopp releases injury update
Jurgen Klopp has spoken to Liverpool’s coverage of the match to discuss the condition of Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota and Alisson Becker.
He said: “Diogo is a concern. With Diogo it’s a muscle again.
“Joe, no. Joe is just a precaution and not taking any kind of risk is worth it. He has been very good in the preseason so far; he felt a little here and there, so we said, ‘Okay, then he’s out.’
“Ali isn’t cool either; it won’t be too long, but to be honest, any day that Ali isn’t around is too long.”
Vieira responds to Zaha exit talk
Patrick Vieira has dismissed rumors of Wilfried Zaha leaving Crystal Palace this summer.
The 29-year-old will enter the final 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park, with no new deal yet to be agreed.
“It’s just a report I guess,” Vieira said. “We are in a period where there is a lot of speculation about players.
“What is really important to me and the football club is that Wilfried Zaha came back on time and that he is doing a good job to have a good season.”
