Eagle-eyed Love Island fans noticed Luca Bis has been snubbed from Gemma Owen‘s Instagram account leading up to and after Monday night’s final.
Last night’s episode revealed that the fishmonger and international dressage rider had finished the ITV2 dating show in second place, behind winners Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti.
Fans have noted that Luca has not appeared in Gemma’s Instagram posts for three days and at the time of writing, there are no photos or mention of him in her Instagram story.
In fact, the most recent post on Gemma’s feed after the finale is an image of just the islander.
“Words cannot describe how proud we all are of Gemma,” the caption reads. “She has shown the nation how mature, honest and stylish she really is.
“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support… Gemma will be SO overwhelmed.”
By way of contrast, Gemma has been plastered all over Luca’s social media account, and his loved ones have shared a photo of them together to celebrate finishing second.
After releasing their inner Sherlock Holmes, Love Island fans were quick to post their findings on Twitter.
‘Did you know that Gemma’s Instagram is all about her and a picture of herself alone when she came in 2nd WITHOUT Luca!’ wrote one.
Echoing a similar sentiment, another wrote: “Check out Gemma’s Instagram, they’ve already started deleting Luca’s existence from it.”
A third commented, “The contrast between Gemma and Luca’s Instagram is so funny, you wouldn’t know Luca existed if you looked at her 7 recent posts and stories, but she’s literally in everything on his LMAO.”
Luca’s behavior has been questioned over the course of the series, with many arguing that his actions were misogynistic.
In previous episodes, he blew on Gemma while accusing her of “flirting” with Billy Brown, despite insisting she wasn’t “amusing” the bomb’s advances.
He then resented the boys: ‘I don’t even want to talk to her tonight. Made me look like an absolute f*****gw****r I’m not going f*****g near that bird.’
After the shocking scenes, Ofcom was hit by 3,617 Ofcom complaints and Luca’s family insisted that they do not condone his behavior and said he would be “embarrassed and deeply apologetic” to look it back.
More recently, Luca started at Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope was named one of the least compatible couples.
Last month was Love Island condemned by Women’s Aid about the ‘controlling behaviour’ shown and confirmed in conversations with ITV about their duty of care regarding relationships.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Gemma’s representative for comment.
Love Island returns to ITV2 in January.
