It wouldn’t be house love no fireworks now, right? And Love Island viewers count Jacques O’Neill thinks he’s in a rom-com.

In one of the series’ most dramatic rematches to date, the Islanders were well tested, but in the end Jacques chose to join Paige Thorne after the pair developed a strong bond.

They kissed and hugged at the reunion by the fire pit, after Paige also decided to stay with Jacques, but the romantic bliss didn’t last as she soon learned he was playing away.

Jacques shared kisses with bombshells Mollie and Cheyenne while Paige was away, got to know the new guys as friends, and left her in tears when the truth was revealed.

The married couple had an explosive fightand Friday night’s teaser suggests that emotions will run high again.

In a deep conversation with Luca Bish – who remained loyal to Gemma Owen – the fishmonger tells him that Paige “forgives” him, before the camera cuts to Jacques, who also has tears running down his cheeks.

“I won’t let her forgive me,” he says dramatically, as viewers compare his comment to a line from a movie.

‘I won’t let her forgive me’ WHAT IS HE THINK IN A ROM COM??,” one viewer tweeted.

‘”I won’t let her forgive me” JACQUES WHAT IS THIS A MOVIE,” laughed another.

Viewers also seem to be all about Team Paige, branding Jacques as a “walking red flag” for “acting like the victim” by getting mad when he was the one playing off.

others called him a ‘master manipulator’ after noting that he didn’t feel like being in the villa anymore.

“I want him OFF,” one viewer tweeted, while another wrote that “Paige has the power” because he “needs serious digging to get out of the s**t.”

“I won’t let her forgive me *cries*” Jacques reminds me of my ex loooooool babes who are about to play victim so differently. Paige honey get your hot girl summer you’re SO much better off,” tweeted another.

But it wasn’t just viewers who advocated for Paige and called out Jacques’ behavior, as former islanders agreed, with the likes of Faye Winter urging Paige to “see” her husband.

“Jacques, the only boots I want you to put on, theirs, are your goddamn walking boots to get home. Don’t even bother. Let the girl go,” she told her Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, Liberty Poole wrote that Paige “deserves 100 times better” after watching the drama unfold in shock, while Shaughna Phillips tweeted: “Paige, there’s only one way to fix this, and that’s violence.”

Love Island continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV.
