Love Island every day is starting to feel more like a rom-com, with viewers now comparing one moment in particular to an iconic moment from The Notebook.
The moment in question? Indian Polack and Dami Hope running into each other’s arms and sharing a romantic hug before bed.
Tonight saw Jay Younger and Chyna Mills dumped from the villa by their fellow islandersbut Dami and Summer Botwe were able to narrowly escape after finding themselves with the bottom two couples.
One person who was quite happy for Dami to stick around was Indiyah, as the two had a special bond prior to the Casa Amor dramas.
Just when it looked like the couples were sitting quietly to turn a blind eye, Indiyah had other ideas when she noticed Dami was outside with Billy Brown, sleeping on the daybed.
She wasted not a moment sprinting out of the bedroom and he jumped off the bed as soon as he saw her coming, eventually running into each other’s arms.
Dami lifted Indiyah, she wrapped her legs around his waist and they shared a passionate goodnight.
Fans were all for the rom-com moment, with one calling it “some Romeo and Juliet s**t.”
“That moment of Indiyah Dami was cute,” one tweeted, while another wrote: “Dami and Indiyah have a cute love story.”
“That Dami and Indiyah scene was too cute, Dami better treat Indiyah like the queen she is,” one viewer added.
However, not everybody was so busy especially after both Indiyah and Dami reconnected after Casa Amor and Indiyah are delivered that iconic line ‘May the best heartthrob win’.
One viewer wondered if Dami’s feelings are genuine and tweeted, “Don’t buy Dami at all. He knew full well that voting was coming soon and miraculously declared that he wanted Indiyah because he knew he would be in the bottom two!’
“I don’t like Dami because of what he did,” said another, while others insisted they didn’t want Indiyah “to go back to him.”
But she seems to have no time for negative Neliies and says to the girls on the terrace the next morning: ‘I really like him. When I see him, I can’t even put it into words.’
Casa Amor’s antics now seem to be water under the bridge too, with Indiyah adding that she “has no time to be petty.”
“I have a wonderful thing about Deji,” she said, referring to her reconnection, “but it’s not the same.”
“But he’s not Dami!” Paige explained to a smiling Indiyah.
But will Indiyah remain loyal with the 2018 troublemaker Adam Collard’s return?
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
