She said: “I’ll be doing Dancing on Ice this year. I’m so excited for the team, can’t wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned and see you on the ice.”

Ekin’s announcement comes after her boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti exclusively told us he turned down a place in the show because he is too busy.

Footballer John Fashanu was announced yesterday as the second Dancing On Ice celeb.

The 60-year-old goes on the ice next door EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer.

Speaking about entering, he said: “I’m so excited to be a part of Dancing on Ice! I don’t think it will come as a surprise to people that I’m very competitive – I’m definitely in to win him.

“And this might be one of the scariest things I’ve ever signed up for, but I couldn’t be more ready for the challenge!”

Throughout his football career as a striker, which spanned from 1978 to 1995, John was part of a Wimbledon team known at the time as “the crazy gang”.

He also played for Norwich City, Miramar Rangers, Lincoln City, Crystal Palace, Millwall and Aston Villa.

He’s presented Gladiators so he’s no stranger to weekend evenings on ITV and has tried reality TV before – appearing on I’m A Celebrity and Celebrity SAS in the past.

US-based Patsy was the first famous face announced for the upcoming series.

The soap legend, 50, is based in Los Angeles, so she practices in the States, as opposed to the rinks of the UK, before flying to her home country for the live shows.

She said: “I wanted to challenge myself, get back to work and get out of my comfort zone. I thought I’d just go for it.

“It seems like a lot of fun and I love to skate, but I’m not a skater. I’ve been asked to do it before, but I was absolutely terrified.

“The pact I made with myself when I turned 50, what I’ve done this year, is that I have to do things in the coming years to challenge myself.

“I don’t want to get stuck in this weird phase of ‘ahh I’m 50’. It’s such a weird age.

“This is for all the 50-year-olds who think they can’t do this. I’m actually quite scared right now.”

Dancing On Ice returns to ITV and ITVX in 2023 with 11 new celebrities taking on the challenge of skating live each week to impress both the panel and viewers at home.
