LOVE Island’s Jacques O’Neill took a big swipe at Paige Thorne and Adam Collard’s romance — hinting that her mom prefers him.

Rugby player Jacques O’Neill – who struggled with his mental health and ADHD so decided to walk away from the ITV2 show – shared a photo of his fellow islanders on social media.

Jacques and co-star Luca Bish, 23, took part in an Instagram Live and broke their silence on Paige and Adam’s relationship.

A fan asked Jacques what he thought of the Welsh paramedic and the Geordie hunks romance.

Jacques laughed and replied, “It seems like they get along very well, they seem happy together.”

Fishmonger Luca nodded and said, “I’m glad the mother approves.”

Jacques reacted boldly: “Yes, her mother seems really fond of Adam.

“So I’m sure Sunday dinner will go very well.”

It comes after Paige’s mother Samantha made it clear that she was not a fan of Adam.

During the Meet The Parents episode Paige gushing about their great time together, she asked her mother what she thought of the Geordie hunk.

After a long pause, Samantha explained that she “didn’t buy it” and didn’t think Adam was real.

Paige later moaned in the Beach Hut: “My mom and her savage comments, I knew she would be… I was like, ‘Oh for God’s sake!’

Jacques decided to leave the villa the same week that love rival Adam Collard came in – he released a statement saying he was sorry for talking to Paige Thorne, with whom he was dating.

“The first two weeks of my experience were probably the happiest I’ve been in a long time,” he said.

“On the other hand, the past two weeks have been absolutely the worst I’ve ever felt in my life.

“I found myself feeling worse and worse every day and if I didn’t leave when I did, I was afraid I would never have become my normal self again.”
