It comes as it was revealed last night that the Met Police had arrested the 40-year-old financial adviser on an allegation of harassment and coercion.

George married clothing designer April Banbury after being paired up on the show by the three pundits – Paul C. Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas.

The pair have had a rocky ride to romance on the show, with George constantly highlighting his trust issues with April after claiming to have been “hurt” by relationships in the past.

But after The Sun exclusively revealed that three of George’s former girlfriends informed the police and the show’s creators about their previous dealings with George, many fans continued to smoke that the relationship experts seemed to be ignoring the controversy.

On Twitter, one person said: “Weird that George has apparently been arrested now, but the ‘experts’ continued to defend his behavior, leaving April feeling she was wrong.”

Another wrote: “The @Channel4 experts on #MAFSUK are clearly not very knowledgeable as the red flags around George were clear from the start…”

A third shared: “If what has been said about George is true, then #MAFSUK needs new and better qualified ‘experts’. They have failed. @Channel4”

While a fourth wrote: “I find it disturbing that the experts have not picked up on George’s manipulative controlling behavior 🚩🚩🚩 #MAFSUK”

Financial adviser Mr Roberts, a father of four, denies any wrongdoing.

The Met Police said: “A 40-year-old man was arrested in Worcestershire on Thursday 29 September on suspicion of coercive and coercive behaviour.

“He was taken to a police station and released on bail pending further investigation.”

The show bosses’ decision to continue with the pre-recorded show, which airs every weeknight, raised eyebrows among the women involved.

They include April Banbury, 33, the former Mrs Great Britain whom he married on the show in a non-legally binding ceremony.

A source close to her told The Sun: “April is going through a really rough time right now. She never wants to see him again.”

Channel 4 did not comment.
