A 40-year-old man has died in hospital after collapsing during the Great Manchester Run.
It is believed the man received medical treatment after falling ill during Sunday's race before being taken to hospital where he later died.
Since news of the tragic death broke, tributes have poured in, with event organizers expressing their 'sincere condolences to the participant's family and friends'.
The man, who has not yet been named, was reportedly taking part in the event's half-marathon race – which also included a 10km run – when he collapsed.

An estimated 30,000 people took to the streets of Manchester as part of the event.
The Great Manchester Run, which was broadcast BBC One on Sunday, which first started as a 10km race in 2003, before the half-marathon version was added in 2017.
The race started on Portland Street and finished on Deansgate, with runners passing the city's iconic Old Trafford stadium.
