Man arrested on suspicion of murder after body was discovered in oat ring.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of 21-year-old Hina Bashir has been notified.

Her family is supported by specialized agents.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “My thoughts are with Hina’s family who have suffered a terrible loss. We will provide them with all possible support.

“This is a rapidly evolving investigation and a man is in custody. We are convinced that this man and Hina knew each other.

“As our investigation progresses, we will work to develop our understanding of what happened to Hina, not only in the past few days, but also in the weeks leading up to this horrific incident.

“I would urge anyone who thinks they have information that could help us come forward.”
