A man identified as Kosarachukwu Ugwuka has publicly confessed to being responsible for the mysterious death of his older brother in Akala village in Ezinifite, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Kosarachukwu made the confession in front of a popular shrine in Nando in the Anambra East Local Government Area district on Sunday, July 10.
It was gathered that the deceased, Chukwudi Josiah Ugwuka, 35, died on April 27, 2022 after a series of mysterious illnesses and was taken from one hospital to another.
Chukwudi was buried on June 23, 2022. His funeral announcement was made by the accused, according to the obituary observed by Olasmediatv.com.
When he told the Nation about the incident on Tuesday, July 12, a family member advocating anonymity said Ugwuka initially denied knowledge of his brother’s death until he was taken to the shrine.
“But when both were repeatedly questioned, the nephew insisted he is innocent, while Ugwuka continued to accuse him, and also continued to deny that he himself had no hand in death,”
“As a result, the villagers had to resort to traditional means to unravel the truth. They have to take them to a popular shrine in Nando last Sunday, to swear before the deity, to prove their innocence.
“After his nephew swore and was vindicated, Ugwuka was enslaved and immediately blinded by the deity while cursing, causing him to immediately confess. It was during the confession that he revealed that he had killed his eldest with rat poison because of land conflicts.”
A viral video shows Ugwuka kneeling and confessing at the shrine while being interrogated by the villagers.
“I poisoned my brother to death with rat poison over land.” he said.
