Manchester United have officially announced the departure of Anthony Martial with a statement thanking the Frenchman for his time at the club.

Greenwood hints at staying at Getafe

Mason Greenwood has hinted he may stay at Getafe after winning the Player of the Season award.

The Manchester United loanee has said he feels “comfortable” at Getafe.

On winning the award, he said: “It feels great to receive these kinds of awards.

“I couldn't achieve this feat without my teammates and coaching staff.

“Everyone has done well in helping me achieve this award and I would like to thank them.

I think we did very well. We could have picked up some extra points here and there to try to push into European places, but that wasn't possible.

“I feel very happy and comfortable here, it was a great experience.”

Southgate wanted 'more than anyone else'

Manchester United bosses have reportedly identified Gareth Southgate as their top target to replace Erik ten Hag.

Respected journalist Miguel Delaney told Sky Sports that Ineos' bigwigs at Old Trafford wanted Southgate “more than anyone” but have faced obstacles in getting things right with the European Championship this summer.

Southgate is clearly leading England's campaign in Germany this summer and is said to have his full attention on the Three Lions for the time being.

Delaney said: “I mean, from what I've heard repeatedly, the figure they wanted more than anyone is Southgate, or certainly some of the key people at INEOS want Southgate, but that's obviously very difficult this summer.”

The England legend, 38, was shown a straight red card for attacking Portugal's Ricardo Carvalho during a quarter-final in Germany 18 years ago.

Greenwood wins Getafe prize

Mason Greenwood has been named Getafe's Player of the Season.

The Manchester United loanee still has question marks over his future despite impressing during his time away in La Liga.

Greenwood has scored ten goals and six assists in his 36 appearances in all competitions for Getafe this season.

United are facing tough competition

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Rennes wonderkid Desire Doue in recent weeks.

But it seems that the Red Devils can expect plenty of competition for the attacking midfielder's signature.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a number of top clubs are likely to be interested in the star.

“To be honest, I could name six or seven clubs that are interested in Doué. There is great interest, but it is still very early.

“So we have to be patient with this. There is certainly interest from several countries because he is considered a top talent.”

Arsenal are also said to be interested in the youngster.
