Marriage: Who’s in it, is there a trailer and how can I watch it?

Marriage is the brand new BBC drama starring Sean Bean and Nicola Walker that will be appearing in our lives this August.

Written and directed by mamas Stefan Golaszewski, the upcoming series follows married couple Ian (Bean) and Emma (Walker) as they negotiate the ups and downs of their 30-year marriage.

Over the course of four episodes, Ian and Emma will deal with the insecurities, ambiguities, hopes and fears that are part of a long-term intimate relationship.

Who is in the cast of Marriage?

James Bolam

New Tricks star James Bolam takes on the role of Gerry, Emma’s father.

Before marriage, James appeared in The Likely Lads and its sequel Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? as Terry Collier.

Chantelle Alle

Chantelle Alle is the daughter of Sean Bean and Nicola Walker on screen (Picture: BBC)

Chantelle Alle plays Ian and Emma’s daughter, Jessica.

The actress is best known for her roles in We Are Lady Parts and Mood.

Henry Lloyd Hughes

Henry Lloyd-Hughes plays Jamie (Picture: BBC)

Henry Lloyd-Hughes is Emma’s boss, Jamie, who undoubtedly causes friction in Emma and Ian’s relationship.

In the trailer, the couple argue about Ian’s suspicions about Jamie’s intentions, to which she replies, “You made this whole situation up. I won’t be controlled by your jealousy.’

The actor previously starred in the E4 comedy series The Inbetweeners as Mark Donovan and also appeared in Killing Eve.

How can I watch Marriage?

The BBC has confirmed that Marriage will air the first episode on BBC One on Sunday 14 August at 9pm.

The series will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
