Mary Mara died at the age of 61 after drowning, according to New York State Police.

The body of an American actress was found on Sunday in the town of Cape Vincent, on the St. Lawrence River, about 90 miles north of Syracuse, according to a report released on Monday.

Mara was believed to have stayed there when she decided to go swimming in her sister’s summer villa facing the St. Lawrence River.

An autopsy was ordered in a preliminary investigation suggesting that she had drowned while swimming.
