Master reverse parking in 15 seconds with a viral driving hack

An almost full parking lot can strike fear in many people driversespecially those who find reverse parking a difficult prospect.

However, helpful TikToker @tonggeshuoche is on a mission to quell that panic and shares an invaluable tip for drivers facing this problem.

His video, titled “Parking Skills 1 Billion People Don't Know, Learned in 15 Seconds!”, provides a step-by-step guide to easy reverse parking.

He began: “First of all, we drove the car parallel to the parking line. When our rearview mirror is aligned with the parking line next to it, turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. Keep going.

“Let's look at the rearview mirror on the right. When you can see the corner of the intended parking spot from the rearview mirror, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right.

“Shift into reverse and back up. When our car is parallel to the two cars next to us, straighten the steering wheel. Drive the car backwards. I parked my car and got into my seat very smoothly.”

The post received mixed reactions from onlookers. Some suggested simply parking forward if reverse parking proved too difficult, accompanied by comments such as: “It looks so easy, but it definitely isn't.”

Another motorist commented dryly, “Maybe I'll learn this after ten years.” Someone else wrote: “I can't sit still. Small steps for me, I guess.”

One TikToker advised: “It's better to make the reverse bend too wide rather than too narrow. If your bend is too wide, you can easily correct it by going forward again. Too tight and you'll have to start all over again to start.”

Another added: “Or just don't park near the supermarket entrances where most people park. I park further away so there are more parking spaces to choose from!” While another concluded that British motorists may have a harder time, noting: “But in Britain, spaces are so tight to park at the back.”
