Meet the cast of Apple’s Godzilla series – The Hollywood Reporter

Apple TV+ and Legendary Television’s Godzilla and Titans series have begun assembling the human cast.

pachinko star Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski have joined the drama of Legendary, expanding Monsterverse from the studio to TV. WandaVision’Matt Shakman will direct the first two episodes and will serve as executive producer.

The self-titled series is set in the aftermath of the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that ravaged San Francisco. It follows a family’s journey to discover its buried secrets and a legacy that links them to the secret organization known as Monarch.

Sawai plays Cate, a schoolteacher and G-Day survivor who travels to Japan to manage family affairs, but instead reveals a secret. Watabe plays Kentaro, an intelligent, creative and curious young man who wants to learn more about his respected but mysterious father.

Clemons (Transparent, Zack Snyder’s Justice League) plays May, an American expatriate who uses a roguish appearance to protect both herself and others. tippet (Mare by Easttown) plays Tim, an office worker who dreams of a secret agent adventure. Laswoski (Versailles) plays Duvall, a veteran cop with unshakable confidence in herself and her skills.

The series continues the Monsterverse initiated by Legendary’s 2014 godzilla movie. The film series includes four films so far, most recently from last year godzilla vs. kong

Chris Black (Outcast, Star Trek: Enterprise) and Matte Fraction (hawk eye) co-created the series, with Black as showrunner. They co-produce with Shakman; Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell; and Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita of Toho Co. Ltd., who owns Godzilla and other monster characters and has licensed them to Legendary.
