Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have stepped back from their royal duties, but they will always keep their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, an expert has claimed.
Despite their departure from the frontline of The Firm in 2020, they have continued to use their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles as they complete charity work and build the Sussex brand.
Calls to strip them of their royal status have increased, especially as they cash in on their titles for lucrative contracts with giants like Netflix and Penguin House.
But even if their royal titles were officially revoked, one royal commentator believes this would not mean a complete loss of their titles, reports the mirror.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, shared her insights on The Royal Beat, claiming that Harry and Meghan are unlikely to ever be stripped of their titles. She explained: 'I don't think anything will happen to the titles because if they lose their titles, Harry will still be a prince of the blood and Meghan will be instead the Duchess of Sussex. [would] being Princess Henry.
'That would really be the case [confuse the Americans]. I think [it’s] It's probably best to just leave it as it looks unfriendly and seems unnecessary.”
She further noted: βThe Queen gave them the titles, let them keep them β they will be 'H and M' anyway. I think it's best to leave them, ignore them and let them do their thing. β and that is really what the Palace and the Royal Family do.β

There has been intense debate over whether Harry could lose his royal sovereign title if he were to fully embrace US citizenship. To obtain a US passport, Harry would have to take the Oath of Allegiance, which forces him to “renounce all allegiance to any foreign prince, state or sovereign.”
The full oath reads: 'I hereby declare, under oath, that I absolutely and completely renounce all allegiance and allegiance to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or of which I have heretofore been a subject or subject been. resident.”
