Men’s team-by-team guide to the season, complete calendar and results

The WorldTour, the top level of professional men’s road cycling, consists of 18 teams from 12 different countries and five continents.

With three major tours at stake – Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a España, each with 21 stages – five monuments – Milan-Sanremo, Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Il Lombardia – there is plenty to chase throughout the season for both teams and riders. In addition, there are 11 week-long shift races and 14 one-day races of varying historical significance.

Following the cancellations of the Tour Down Under and the one-day Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, this year’s WorldTour begins on February 20 with the fourth edition of the UAE Tour.

Consisting of a total of 31 events from one-day races to the three-week big tours – jewels in the crown of men’s cycling – the WorldTour competes across three continents, culminating on October 8 in Italy at Il Lombardia.
