It will start dry today, but there will be showers across the country this afternoon and tonight, Met Éireann predicts.
The forecaster predicts mixed conditions with occasional rain for the rest of the holiday weekend, warmest in the south and east.
Some haze or fog clears this morning leaving a dry but mostly cloudy start to the day with some scattered showers – most over the Atlantic counties.
Towards evening there will be more general rain towards the west and northwest coasts.
It will be humid with highest temperatures between 19C and 23C, the warmest and driest in the east and southeast, all in a mostly moderate southwest wind.
Tonight, scattered bursts of rain will spread across the country, becoming sustained in the north and west with driest conditions in the southeast.
It will be a fairly warm, humid and windy night with the lowest temperatures between 14C and 17C, with moderate to fresh southwest winds.
Saturday will be quite cloudy with occasional rain or showers, along with some low cloud and fog along some Atlantic coasts.
However, there will also be longer, drier periods with some warm sunshine possibly breaking through outside the Atlantic provinces.
The highest temperatures are between 18C and 23C, warmest in the southeast and east, with a mainly moderate southwest wind.
It will be a mostly calm night with eruptions of rain sweeping across the country.
Rain is likely to be heaviest in the south and only patchy in the north. However, some uncertainty remains with the lowest temperatures between 12C and 17C, coolest in Ulster, very mild and humid in the south with some mist and fog as well.
Sunday will be mostly uneventful to start with continued bursts of rain, heaviest in the south.
However, sunny spells with only scattered showers develop during the afternoon.
The highest temperatures are between 17C and 23C, warmest in southern provinces with light northwest or variable winds.
It will be dry and calm for much of the night, but with some mist and fog. More rain will fall in much of the south of the country later in the night.
The lowest temperatures are between 10C and 16C, the mildest in the southern and eastern provinces.
Current indications are that Monday will be mostly uneventful with eruptions of rain sweeping across the country and becoming heaviest in the afternoon and evening, with also hills, fog and coastal fog.
The highest temperatures are between 17C and 22C or 23C, with a light to moderate southwest wind.
It will be humid at night, locally wet and windy, all with a moderate to fresh southwest wind. It will also be hot and muggy with the lowest temperatures between 14C and 18C.
